Project Engineer
 

Job Duties:

  • Manage multiple capital projects, building scalable initiatives, defining roadmaps and translating strategic initiatives into objective goals within defined budget.

  • Review of engineering documents/drawings using computer tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and MS project to check the on-site construction feasibility within the allocated scope and schedule.

  • Utilize PROCORE, a project management software throughout the life of project, for effective tracking of RFIs, submittals, drawings/specs and QA/QC process.

  • Technical competent in selection, procurement, installation and commissioning on handling packages such as pumps, air compressors, boilers, cooling towers, chiller unit, HVAC system & explosion protection systems.

  • Understand design, selection & commissioning of equipment Machine guarding using optimum codes & standards including “ANSI B 11-2020, OSHA 1910.212.Manage projects under Dust extraction and cyclone dust collection systems along with selection of appropriate fire protection systems as per NFPA 68,69.Check feasibility of Capex Projects working collaboratively with Quality, Safety, Marketing, R+D and plant personnel to finalize the scope of project.

  • Pre-construction coordination and facility design management with MEP, Architectural, and Controls Engineers to ensure designs are fully optimized to support project objectives.

  • Spearheading the project to ensure adherence to schedule, budget and cost. Manage site construction, contractors and OEM’s ensuring Safety Standards are applied.

  • Execute the project monitoring and control process by developing weekly project status reports, meeting notes, schedules, cost estimates and resource planning.

  • Construction Management support for resolution of construction related issues to investigate equipment failures to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedies.

  • Ensure execution of commissioning process leverages on site Quality Assurance/Quality Control requirements and align commissioning agents for project clearance.

  • Develops subcontractor scopes of work, evaluates bids, as submitted, and assists with estimating and vendor procurement during pre-construction phase.

  • Execute time study to develop a time and motion analysis for industrial engineering to evaluate daily work methods of plant operators.
     

Work Schedule

  • Number of hours per week: 40 hours per week

  • Daily Work Schedule: Mon to Fri 7:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. (1 hour lunch)

 

Travel

The only travel required is when the Applicant relocates to unanticipated client locations anywhere in the U.S. for long-term assignments.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

5 Years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a closely related occupation.

Skills

Experience to include, 5 years of experience in:

  • Design and selection of dust extraction and cyclone dust collection systems including the fire suppression technology using NFPA 68,69 codes.

  • Execute time study to develop a time and motion analysis for industrial engineering to evaluate daily work methods of plant operators.

  • Design and selection of equipment machine guarding as per “ANSI B 11-2020, OSHA 1910.212 and other plant related safety guidelines.

  • Prepare bid packages and requests for quotes for materials, equipment and services during pre-project budget approval stages.

Project Engineer
 

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Oversee installation of mechanical and electrical systems as well as structural members. Activities include, but are not limited to: HVAC, plumbing, wall & roof openings, masonry construction, PEMB construction, concrete slab installation and lighting.

  • Confer with vendors, subcontractors, engineers and clients throughout project implementation.

  • Collect field data for principal engineers to assist in the design process.

  • Analyze the feasibility of issued designs and communicate potential challenges based on field assessment.

  • Document the progress of the project on a daily basis.

  • Examine the capacity of existing systems and coordinate with site maintenance to identify tie-in points for upcoming installations.

  • Reviewing and implementing structural and mechanical engineering drawings

  • Communicate with structural and mechanical inspectors with regards to their assessments and implement appropriate courses of action.

  • Develop and modify project schedule throughout the implementation phase based on the progress.

  • Monitor the performance of the newly installed systems to ensure they operate successfully.

Education

U.S. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Undergraduate coursework to include, coursework in: Intro to Circuits and Electronics with Lab (1 Credit); Composite Materials Technology (1 Credit); Thermal/Fluid Systems Design (1 Credit); and Fluid Mechanics 2 (1 credit).

Experience

Three months of experience as a Project Engineer. Experience to include, three months of experience in:

  • Communicate with structural and mechanical inspectors with regards to their assessments and implement appropriate courses of action.

  • Reviewing and implementing structural engineering drawings
